Who doesn’t love a pink drink? I’m sure you’re all familiar with the pink drinks from Starbucks at this point. These drinks have been very popular since they first came out a couple of years ago.  No wonder. Not only they are delicious but they also look great in pics, which makes them perfect for influencers and bloggers alike. But of course, you don’t need to be a blogger or influencer to enjoy this pretty drink.

Although, I’m more of a coffee person than a tea person myself, I still enjoy an iced tea every now then. These pink drinks are perfect for a hot summer day or if you just want a change from your usual order. But, they don’t come cheap, which means if you have a mild addiction you will be spending a sizeable amount of money.

So why not make your own pink drink at home? Yes, it’s possible and anyone can make them.

This copycat Starbucks recipe is very close to the original, (tastes the same to me!) plus you can adjust the sweetness to your liking and dietary needs. Ok, you can do that at Starbucks too, but my point is this: it’s easy to make them at home and by doing so, it can also help you save money. You know, for more important things like makeup and clothes.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • 1 Box of Tazo Passion tea. If you want a different flavor any berry tea with a red tint will do.

  • Coconut milk -Any other alternative milk works as well, but I find that coconut milk gives this drink a better flavor.

  • 1 small bag of freeze dried strawberries. If for any reason you can’t find freeze dried strawberries, fresh strawberries work just as fine.

  • Agave, honey or any other alternative sweetener to enhance the flavor of your drink.

  • Ice

Prepare the tea with hot water as you would do a regular cup of tea. Cool it down and sweeten it to taste.
After the tea has cooled down, fill up a quarter of a cup with it. Add some ice and a handful of strawberries to garnish the drink and then top it off with some coconut milk.
Give it a good stir or if you have a cocktail shaker a good shake, and there you have it! Your own pink drink!

Notes: After adding the milk you should be able to see a bubble gum pink color. Adjust the amount of ice having in mind that as ice melts the drink will be more diluted.

If you’re feeling particularly creative, you can experiment with different berries for extra flavor or some lemon juice to add zest. Adding a splash of cranberry juice enhances the flavor and the color of the drink as well. So, as you can see, there are endless ways of making this drink your own.

That’s all there’s to it. Easy right?
